16,000 tribals to get land, houses in Orissa

Following is a report from The Pioneer:

Minister for Harijan and Tribal Welfare Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha on Saturday visited Nuapada district and reviewed the different schemes implemented by the Tribal Welfare Department and also attended a function to distribute land pattas to the tribals.

The Minister informed that the State Government has taken up multi- pronged schemes for the welfare of tribals. Sixteen thousand Adivasi families will be provided with land and houses. In the afternoon the Minister visited Darlapada Sevashram High School.

Later, at a camp distributed land to the Chakutia Bhanja families residing inside the Sunabeda sanctuary. Among other PD Akshay Kumar Jena, Sub- Collector Gurucharan Prasad, Zilla Parishad chairman Jemani Dharua, ZP vice–chairman Prasana Kumar Padhi CBDO Himashu Mahapatra and many other eminent persons were present.
